Some thoughts

So I think I should try to be a little more specific with what I say I eat. After all, I usually have a bag of pretzels at lunch and there's another 100 cal. Also a banana, but I truly don't know how many calories those are. I skipped writing yesterday, but it was the same as Monday. And today will be the same too.

Generally, I need to eat more after dinner. I eat pretty well at work and frankly, I don't have the time to eat any more if I wanted to. So maybe I should come up with an evening snack.

Hmm.

Tired in every way

So it's been a few days, but I have a good reason! We did our first race ever this weekend. Sunday (Super Bowl Sunday actually) we ran the Gridiron Classic. A 4 mile race around Central Park. Wow. What an experience. It was beautiful there. And great weather. Meech had a rough time and my calves were killing me the whole time, but we clocked in at 49:03. Not too shabby.

Yesterday I finally bought a replacement water bottle, so I'm back to my old routine!

2 bowls of cereal - 540 cal
Milkshake - 400 cal
Burrito Pie - 400 cal
'nother bowl of cereal - 270 cal
Salmon - 300 cal?

Sleeping Beauty

Well, Meech finally got a decent night's sleep. It's been like, a week since she's slept through the night. Between the couple having crazy sex upstairs and the couple throwing lamps in an angry furor, and of course our own children scratching at the door, poor Meech has been in some desperate need of shuteye.

I still miss my milkshake.

2 bowls of cereal - 540 cal
Pizza, green beans, salad and chocolate milk - 400 cal
Pasta and shrimp - 500 cal
PB tortilla - 200?

Feeling better

Wow... I was sick. Friday was awful. I was completely out of it and had a little fever. So the weekend was recovery and now I'm back on track. Yay.
Too bad I threw away my terribly smelly water bottle. No milkshakes for awhile.

Today:
1 bowl of cereal - 270 cal
Shwarma stew - 400 cal
2 pizza slices - 300 cal

COUGH*HACK*COUGH

Yeah, I have a bad cough. Yuck.
Anyway, yesterday's plan was really good. Two bowls of cereal, milkshake, huge lunch of taco salad, 2 slices of bread, tortilla with PB... until dinner. When the headache hit and I could barely see straight. I sipped one small bowl of soup, but that was it. I was in bed by 8.

Today I have the cough, but no headache.
1 bowl of cereal (running low) - 270 cal
2 slices of bread - 200 cal
Water (getting nervous about that milkshake smell)
Awesome tuna salad with eggs - 500 cal
...
that's it. Hmm. Well, dinner's coming soon, but I better scarf something down now!
Toodles.

See Adam. See Adam Run. Run Adam, Run.

So I thought I'd post a quick entry reminding myself how often we've ran so far. (Especially considering I'm the only one who reads this). Meech and I have resolved to running the NYC Marathon in November. In doing so, we're desperately trying to stick to a training plan. This includes running a set number of miles every other day or so. Now, we started the year off strong (as per usual) and after two weeks, we've already hit the wall (as per usual). To be fair though, Meech is going through physical therapy for her back, and running was killing her, so we took a break until her doc said it was ok.

Now we're back and before our schedule gets messed up again, I thought I should record what we've done so far.

Sun, Dec 30th - 4 miles (both)
Tue, Jan 1st - 3 miles (both)
Fri, Jan 11th - 1.25 miles (Adam)
Sat, Jan 12th - 3 miles (walked, both)
Sun, Jan 13th - 3 miles (both)
Tue, Jan 15th - 3 miles (Meech)

Not bad so far, but we still have awhile to go. I'll try to post every other week or so, just to keep current.
